Master stylist Miranda Thompson checked off her professional bucket list in July 2016 with the grand opening of 360 Salon in Blaine, Washington.

A hair enthusiast, Miranda is a passionate learner. She stays on top of the latest styles and trends through continuous educational master classes taught by icons like Guy Tang, Kevin Murphy, Gina Kahn, Oscar Bond, and acclaimed hair-cutting specialist Yosh, five of the biggest innovators and pioneers in the hair industry. More recently, Miranda graduated from Loreal’s elite Professional Expert Network, a six month course in color, cuts and professional development. She is also certified in Aveda aromatherapy and has graduated from the Aveda Institute in Soho, New York. 

 

Salon 360 uses John Masters Organic hair care products and Loreal Professional ’s INOA line, one of the first ammonia-free color systems.

Why you should care about organic, ammonia-free products

“The hair industry is changing to reflect the savvy, health-conscious consumer. Using an ammonia-free color system and organic hair care products is good for my clients and me,” said Miranda. “Just like you wouldn’t intentionally ingest a household cleaner, there is no need to use harsh chemicals to be your best, most beautiful self. Plus, rinsing harsh chemicals down the drain is really bad for our ecosystem and marine life. Progressive hair stylists understand this and want what’s best for their clients and the environment.”

The “Hair Whisperer”

Dubbed the “hair whisperer” by her clients, Miranda's clientele have:

​

• naturally curly hair

• hand colored their roots with a sharpie pen

• chemical straightening dependencies

• mistakenly colored their hair orange with an off-the-shelf color kit

• given themselves a drunken “selfie” hair cut

• called crying after experiencing post-pregnancy hair loss; and

• needed some TLC hair care before or following serious medical treatments

Her clientele

The majority of  Miranda’s 450+ client base have been “brand loyalists” for an average of 12 years, many traveling north to see her from as far away as Seattle, Louisiana and even Norway.

Known for saying it like it is, Miranda prides herself in listening to her clients and giving them hair styles and colors that work for their face shape, hair texture and lifestyle. Prior to opening 360 Salon, Miranda was the lead stylist at Essence Salon in Birch Bay, and established her career at Accents Salon in Bellingham, Washington.
